- Universal Credit with an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400
- Income support

- The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit

The school does not automatically know that your child is eligible so it is important that you inform school if any of the above applies to you. Please download and fill in the attached application form, or pick one up from the school office.
Allocation of Funding
It is the Headteacher’s responsibility to allocate these funds. However, whenever funds are specifically directed, we have to identify how this has supported the pupil to make expected or better than expected progress and academic achievement. For children who are Looked After or Previously Looked After, the ‘Pupil Premium Plus’ is allocated directly to Surrey’s Virtual School. At Horley Infant School we direct this funding in three areas:
- Attainment and progress
- Care, guidance and support
Pupil Premium Funding may be used to support children’s academic progress and may also be used towards the payment of school trips, and after school clubs. Attending clubs can support children in their social and emotional development, helping them to become more confident and to make progress in line with their peers. We ask parents in return to support their child by ensuring they are punctual and attend school regularly, homework activities are completed on time and reading is practised regularly.
We are held accountable for this funding, and are required to publish information about how we have used Pupil Premium and how we intend to use it.
We recognise that not all pupils who are eligible for this funding will be socially disadvantaged.
We also recognise that not all pupils who are socially disadvantaged are registered or qualify for pupil premium; we reserve the right to allocate the Pupil Premium funding to support any pupil or groups of pupils the school has legitimately identified as being disadvantaged.
Other funding has been added to this area from the school budget in order to best support the learning for different groups of vulnerable children.
