Welcome New Parents!
UPDATED 3rd JULY 2020
September 2020 Starters
Many thanks to everyone who has sent their forms back! It has been lovely to read about the children who are joining us in September! Some ‘Welcome Packs’ have been sent to your child’s pre-school/nursery (if they are currently attending) and others are now ready for collection from Horley Infant School. You may pick the pack up from the main entrance in Lumley Road; please ring the door bell and someone will come and assist you. Packs are available for collection Monday – Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.; included in the pack is lots of information about your child starting school, what class they will be in and dates for starting school in September.
If you have any queries regarding the pack please do not hesitate to contact the School Office on 01293 782263 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org where a member of the Admin team will be able to help you.
We look forward to meeting you soon!
New Parent Virtual Meeting/Webinar
Thank you to everyone who joined our New Parent Webinar on Thursday 2nd July! Below is a recording of the event if you were unable to attend.
We are so sorry that we aren’t able to welcome you into the school building as we normally would. Some of you may have seen that the Government’s guidance for schools in September were shared this week. Please note, as a school, we do not receive this information any earlier than the general public and, as such, we are having to balance the existing running of the school and provision for children as well as putting plans in place for September. At this stage, there are no plans to change the dates or format of the children’s start as there are much wider implications that the school will need to consider.
Classroom 360 degree view
As we are unable to welcome you into the school to see the classrooms, we have taken a 360 degree photo of the classroom as it is currently set up. Please note, the classrooms do not normally look like this! These have been set up for small groups of fifteen children within a “Bubble” for the COVID-19 response.
Surrey County Council is the admission authority for Horley Infant School. You can find up to date information here about the school’s admission arrangements and details on how to apply, either as part of the normal intake or during the school year, please use this link to the Surrey County Council website.
Year 3 Admissions
As we are an infant school, you will need to complete the admissions process again when your child is in Year 2. Our main feeder junior school is Yattendon School and the fourth priority for admissions is “Children attending Horley Infant School”. This means, your child in Year 2 will have priority over other children locally who are not Looked After by the Local Authority (Foster children) or who don’t already have an EHCP (Education & Health Care Plan). For more information, take a look here at Yattendon’s Admissions Policy.
If you would like paper copies for any of the information on our website, please contact the school office
